Sh. Chandrashekhar Shivacharya of Hukkeri Hiremath has earned distinction by successfully implementing the Akshara Dasoha scheme.
It is an ambitious project of the state and central governments. Nutritious food is provided to 65000 children in Chikkodi, Hukkeri and Nipani taluka in Belagavi district.
Kashi Jagadguru speaking on the occasion said that "it brings immense joy that Sh.Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamiji has been honoured with the Vishwa Basava Award ''.
The award was given by Vishwaaradhya of Kalaburagi. The award ceremony included a presentation of a plaque, a shawl and a gold ring to Swamiji.The award was presented amidst the 73rd jatra mahotsav and witnessed by more than 10000 devotees. Speaking on the occasion Sh. Dr. Siddarama Shivachary Swamiji of Shakarpur Vishwaradhya Tapovan remarked that "Hukkeri's Chandrashekhar Shivacharya is a devoted worshipper of Goddess Annapurneshwari and a faithful practitioner of age old customs and traditions".
While accepting the award, Sh. Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamjiji of Hukkeri Hiremath expressed his gratitude and emphasised the importance of continuing the good work in the region. The ceremony highlighted the significance of service, devotion, and resonating with the teachings of Vishwaaradhay and Basavamba. Sh.Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamiji has been at the forefront in doing social work to society. During the global COVID-19 pandemic, He provided free ambulance service to the border areas in Belagavi district. His actions were highly appreciated by the government officials and the general public.
