Shri Siddalinga Shivacharya Swamiji of Chikkamatt in Bannur village of Ramadurga taluk will be
honored by Sri Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamiji from Sri Gurushanteshwara Sansthan Hiremath
in Hukkeri on March 30 at 6.30 pm as part of the Yugamanotsava of Sri Jagadguru Panchacharya.
In the program to be held at Bannur Chikmath in Ramadurga taluk, the Tapobhushan of Hiremath of
Katakola M. Chandragi, Shri Veerabhadra Shivayogi Shivacharya Swamiji; Shri Dr. Shivalinga
Murugarajendra Shivacharya Swamiji of Bagojikoppa Hiremath; Shri Renuka Shivacharya Swamiji of
Haralapur and Katakola M. The award will be presented in the presence of Shri Renuka
Gadadeshwara Devar, the successor of Chandaragi Hiremath, the administrative officer of Hukkeri
Gurushanteshwara Sansthan Hiremath said in a statement.
The background of the award Shri Chandrashekhara Shivacharya Swamiji has maintained a tradition
of celebrating Shri Renukacharya Yugamanotsava every year on the day of Ugadi at the Hukkeri. This
year senior Swamiji’s will honour him by presenting with the Panchacharya award. It can be learned
on this occasion that many Mahaswamis have already been presented with awards by the Shri’s at
his Math. On the auspicious day of Ugadi, the Hukkeri Shri has called upon the Veerashaiva
Lingayats to adopt the practice of placing a portrait of Sri Jagadguru Panchacharya in their homes
and celebrating the Yugamanotsava of Sri Jagadguru Panchacharya and dedicating their devotion.
Shri Siddalinga Shivacharya Swamiji of Bannur is an M.A. Sanskrit scholar. He has acquired mastery in
Kannada, Hindi, English, and Sanskrit and is known for his simplicity. He is constantly engaged in
agricultural activities and is called an agricultural sage by everyone.
