Siddapur: A rare and emotional incident took place when the pontiff of Hukkeri Hiremath in Belagavi
district, visited the house of the Guru who taught him and paid his respects.
Before Guru Purnima, Shri Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamiji of Hukkeri Hiremath, honored
Vidwan Gangadhar Bhat. While studying in Mysuru, it was his Guru who taught him. Guru Gangadhar
is now a resident of Siddapur, in Uttara Kannada (U.K) district, Karnataka. Hukkeri Shri, honoured
him with a shawl, garland, fruits and Guru Dakshina.
Shri Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Swamiji, recollected that it was Gangadhar Bhat's guidance while
studying in Mysore, which has been a source of inspiration in his life to take on new challenges and
responsibilities. And he added that it was his Guru, “who answered many confusions and queries
apart from the subject of studies”.
Gangadhar Bhat’ remembered his role as a teacher and what he taught them, filled his heart with
joy and happiness. “Our duty is that we should live with humanity described that Hukkeri Shri, is
doing the same in his ashram”. On this occasion, Dr. K. Bhima, Ravindra Kumar, Sridhar Shet of
Guledagudda,. Gangadhar Turamari of M.K Hubballi and Nagendra were present.
Earlier Hukkeri Shri, went to Bhuvanagiri and had darshan of the Kannada Bhuvaneshwari Devi. On
behalf of the temple, President Srikanth Hegde Gunjagoda, Secretary Nandana Bhatta Asavalli, and
Narayan Hegde Kallaremane of Sushira Sangeet Parivar received the pontiff.
